Release date: March 1, 2023
Beginning in early March, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will resume the 1.4-mile reconstruction of WIS 50 (75th Street), between 256th Avenue and 236th Avenue, in the village of Paddock Lake in Kenosha County.
What to Expect
- Week of March 1: Crews return to begin temporary traffic signal work requiring minor short-term shoulder closures and turn-lane closures.
- Week of March 20: Single-lane, bi-directional traffic configuration on the westbound lanes while crews begin reconstructing the eastbound lanes.
- Late Spring: Crews begin working on the southern portion of the WIS 83/WIS 75 intersection requiring a multiweek closure of WIS 83 access at the south end of the intersection. As the project progresses, the WIS 83/WIS 75 intersection will require alternating multiweek restrictions of different portions of the intersection. However, east-west access along WIS 50 through the WIS 83 intersection will remain open.
- Access to local businesses, residences and destinations will be maintained.
A.W. Oakes & Son, Inc. is the prime contractor for the $13 million reconstruction project scheduled to be complete by this fall. Project schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
