Governor Evers approves WIS 95 resurfacing project in Buffalo County

​​​​​Work includes com​pleting culvert work, replacing curb, gutter and guardrail

To invest in Wisconsin's transportation system, Gov. Tony Evers has signed a $4.16 million contract with prime contractor Mathy Construction Co. of Onalaska for a resurfacing project from 0.2 mile north of Jefferson Street in Fountain City to County G in the Buffalo County town of Cross. Construction is scheduled to start Wednesday, May 10.

The pavement on this segment of WIS 95 is showing signs of deterioration. To address this and other issues, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation plans to:

  • Remove a portion of the existing pavement and placing new asphalt pavement.
  • Replace concrete curb and gutter.
  • Replace guardrail.
  • Complete culvert work.
  • Place new pavement markings.

During construction, WIS 95 will remain open to traffic, but motorists will encounter lane closures controlled by flagging operations.

​Construction is scheduled for completion in July.​
