The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss resurfacing US 14 from 0.1 miles east of WIS 58 to the Sauk County line in Richland County.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Town of Buena Vista Town Hall, 32886 S. Third Street, Gotham. The objective of this meeting is to familiarize the public with the purpose and need for the project and to obtain input on the proposed improvements. Construction is scheduled for 2027.
Proposed improvements include removing 2-4.5 inches of asphaltic surface milling and replacing with 2-4.5-inches of hot mix asphalt (HMA) pavement, replacing guard rail, centerline rumble strips and new pavement markings. A section of US 14 within the unincorporated Village of Gotham will be reconstructed for the inclusion of left turn lanes at the WIS 60/County JJ intersection. US 14 will remain open to traffic during construction through staging operations.
Adjacent property owners are encouraged to attend the meeting. If unable to attend or for more information contact WisDOT Project Manager Greg Brecka at (608) 516-6524, gregory.brecka@dot.wi.gov. Written comments can be mailed to Greg Brecka at 2101 Wright Street, Madison, WI 53704.
