Governor Evers approves US 12/Veterans Street intersection improvements, Monroe County

Release date: June 5, 2023

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers recently signed a $3 million contract to reconstruct US 12/Veterans Street intersection in Tomah, Monroe County. Preliminary work is scheduled to begin June 12.

Gerke Excavating is the prime contractor for the project. The project is designed to remove and replace the existing pavement with new concrete pavement. Additional improvements include asphalt pavement on County ET/Veterans Street, installation of new traffic signals, street lighting and sidewalk.

During construction, US 12 will be one lane in each direction.

Project completion is scheduled for November 2023. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
