Title search

The title search application will display the date that WisDOT last processed a title for a vehicle if the vehicle identification number (VIN) and owner identifier entered match our records. If your record does not display, check processing times and mailing information. 

Tips for using the title transfer search application​​

  • ​For best results, use the Wisconsin driver license/ID number for individuals or the FEIN (Federal Employer Identification Number) for non-individual (i.e., businesses, trusts, etc.) searches. 
  • Do not use the letter "O" when entering in a VIN. Use the number "0."
  • Do not use the letters "Q" or "I" when entering in a VIN as these letters are not used in standard VINs. 

Note: This WisDOT application is not a secure website. Personal information such as names, address, social security numbers, date of birth, etc. will not be displayed.
