WIS 27 (WIS 33 to Icon Avenue), Sparta to Cashton – Monroe County
Project overview
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) plans to improve this 14.34 mile section of WIS 27 from the roundabout at WIS 33 to Icon Avenue south of I-90. The project is needed because the existing pavement is aged and deteriorated with extensive cracking. The proposed improvement is to replace the existing pavement with a 5.5-inch asphaltic pavement. Proposed improvements include:
- Remove the existing asphalt surface
- Pave 5.5-inches of new asphalt pavement
- Update sub-standard curb ramps
- Evaluate existing guardrail
- Evaluate existing drainage structures
- Minor structure repairs
- Rumble strips
- Pavement marking
