Governor Evers approves resurfacing project on US 2 in Ashland County

​​​​​Project also incl​udes completing culvert work and adding left-turn lanes at Bad River casino

To invest in Wisconsin's transportation system, Gov. Tony Evers has signed a $4.99 million contract with prime contractor Northwoods Paving ​of Ashland for a resurfacing project on US 2 from Government Road in New Odanah to the Ashland/Iron County line. Construction is scheduled to start Monday, June 5.

To address deteriorating pavement and other issues, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation plans to:

  • Resurface US 2.
  • Line, repair or replace culverts.
  • Reconfigure US 2 to add left-turn lanes at the Bad River Lodge & Casino.
  • Place new pavement markings.

​During construction, US 2 will remain open to traffic, but motorists will encounter lane closures controlled by flagging.

Construction is scheduled for completion in September.​
