The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) established the Freight Advisory Committee (FAC) to help inform the department on issues that impact freight mobility and to provide a voice for the freight sector on the development of freight-related policies, processes and projects. This webpage will provide FAC members with information on the department’s recent efforts and on the schedule and content of upcoming FAC meetings.
Members
FAC members include representatives from sectors including industry, agriculture, logistics, warehousing, economic development and transportation. Each FAC member serves for a period of up to two years.
Non-voting members from government offices provide guidance from federal and state programmatic and regulatory perspectives.
Duties and powers
While the FAC’s role is important, its role is strictly advisory. The FAC focuses on advising and helping the department understand the current and emerging concerns from freight sector users, providers, and regulators.
More detailed information on the structure and operation of the FAC can be found in the
FAC Charter (Updated May 2017).
Intermodal Subcommittee
In late 2017 WisDOT created the Intermodal Subcommittee. See the
intermodal freight webpage for additional information including meeting agendas and notes.
