The WisDOT partners with local law enforcement agencies on different types of traffic safety programs. To reduce the number of traffic fatalities and injuries, WisDOT provides
grants for enforcement and media plan templates to educate the public on the dangers of speeding, inattentive driving, drunk and drugged driving and not wearing a seat belt.
WisDOT also works with Law Enforcement agencies to use technology to process citations and traffic crash reports in
Traffic and Criminal Software (TraCS), as well as the
central communications hub,
Mobile
Architecture for Communications
Handling (MACH).
Law enforcement agencies are important partners in reaching the state’s goal of reducing the number of preventable traffic deaths in Wisconsin.
