Solvency report and tolling study

As part of the 2015-17 state budget, the Legislature directed the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) to complete a report on the solvency of the state Transportation Fund. Along with reviewing current and projected transportation revenues, the report’s largest component is a Tolling Feasibility Study designed to provide state lawmakers detailed information to help guide policy decisions.

WisDOT contracted with a private firm (HNTB Corporation) to prepare the comprehensive tolling study that includes current industry standards, technologies, best practices, potential costs and revenues. Neither WisDOT nor the study make any recommendations for or against tolling.
