Governor Evers approves US 14/61 improvements, Vernon County

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers recently signed a $547,448 contract to improve US 14/61 between Brendel Lane and South Washington Lane in Viroqua, Vernon County. Preliminary work is scheduled to begin July 5.

Chippewa Concrete Services is the prime contractor for the project. The project is designed to spot replace portions of concrete pavement, remove pavement marking and place epoxy pavement marking, the roadway will be reconstructed to include a two-way left turn lane.

During construction, US 14/61 will remain open to traffic with single lane closures.

Project completion is scheduled for fall 2023. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
