American Asphalt of Wisconsin is the prime contractor for the project. Crews will replace three deteriorated culvert pipes, conduct minor trail crossing improvements, mill and resurface the highway, install centerline and edgeline rumble strips, and install new pavement markings.
During construction, US 51 will experience temporary lane closures with flaggers near construction operations and reduced lane widths at some locations for brief periods. At the end of the workday, the roadway will be opened to normal traffic conditions.
Construction is scheduled for completion by November 2023. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
