The existing pavement on this segment of US 63 is exhibiting signs of deterioration. To address this and other issues, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation plans to:
Remove a portion of the existing pavement and overlay the roadway with new asphalt pavement.
Widen the paved shoulders.
Add rumble strips.
Make bridge repairs.
Complete culvert work.
Clean ditches.
Replace guardrail at spot locations.
Construction is scheduled for 2027.
During construction, US 63 will remain open to traffic for most of the work, with motorists encountering single-lane closures. Work on a deep culvert will require a short-term closure of US 63, with traffic detoured via County E, County T and County G.
