Governor Evers approves I-39/90/94 northbound improvements, Columbia County

Release date: September 12, 2023

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers recently signed a $2.6 million contract to improve I-39/90/94 northbound lanes between South County Line and WIS 60 near Lodi in Columbia County. Preliminary work is scheduled to begin September 18.

Payne and Dolan is the prime contractor for the project. The project is designed to improve the surface by placing a 4-inch asphalt overlay on the existing concrete pavement and replacing existing beam guard at the bridge overpasses.

During construction, I-39/90/94 will remain open under single lane closures.

Project completion is scheduled for 2024. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
