Governor Evers approves WIS 33 improvements, Sauk County

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers recently signed a $18 million contract to improve WIS 33 between Mulberry Street and County T in Baraboo, Sauk County. Preliminary work is scheduled to begin September 18.

A-1 Excavating is the prime contractor for the project. The project is designed to replace deteriorating pavement on WIS 33 and improve safety by converting the existing 4-lane undivided highway to two lanes with a two way left turn lane (TWLTL). During construction, WIS 33 will be closed and detoured utilizing I-90/94 and US 12.

Project completion is scheduled for 2024. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
