The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss the bridge deck replacement project for the WIS 28 bridge over the East Branch of the Rock River in Mayville, Dodge County. Construction is anticipated in 2027.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm with a short presentation at 5:30pm, at the City of Mayville City Hall, 15 S. School Street, Mayville, WI 53050. The objective of this meeting is to familiarize the public with the purpose and need for the project and to obtain input on the proposed improvements.
The project will include replacing the bridge deck, painting the existing steel girders, and concrete surface repairs on the abutments and pier. The concrete sidewalk will be widened from the existing 5’ to 6’. The concrete approaches will be replaced in addition to minor curb and gutter and sidewalk replacements adjacent to the bridge. During construction WIS 28 will be closed and detoured utilizing WIS 67, WIS 33, and I-41.
