Roundabout proposed for US 10/WIS 25 North intersection to reduce crashes at crossing
Release date: November 20, 2023
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is holding a public involvement meeting to present a proposal to build a roundabout at the intersection of US 10 at its intersection with WIS 25 North west of Durand in the Pepin County town of Waubeek.
-
When: 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6.
- A presentation will be at 5 p.m.
-
Where: Community Room, Durand City Hall, 104 E. Main St.
The intersection has a crash history. To reduce the number and severity of crashes, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing to:
- Construct a single-lane roundabout at the intersection.
In addition to building a roundabout, WisDOT also considered making the intersection an all-way stop and installing traffic signals.
Construction currently is scheduled for 2026. It will be completed in stages to allow US 10 and WIS 25 North to stay open to traffic, but motorists might encounter lane closures controlled by flagging.
Persons who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter can request one at least three working days before the meeting by contacting WisDOT Project Manager Nathan Ulness at (715) 836-3914 or nathan.ulness@dot.wi.gov.
