The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss improvements on the WIS 80 project from West 8th Street to County C, north of Richland Center in Richland County.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Richland Community Center, 1050 N. Orange Street, Richland Center. The objective of this meeting is to familiarize the public with the purpose and need for the project and to obtain input on the proposed improvements.
Construction is scheduled for 2029. Some of the needs identified along this segment of WIS 80 include:
- The pavement structure is deteriorating.
- Several bridge structures are in need of repair or replacement.
- Pedestrian curb ramps do not meet current ADA standards.
- The existing guardrail in some locations is out of date or near the end of their service life
