Voluntary Dealer Training Available
The Dealer and Agent Section (DAS) is now offering a voluntary dealer training seminar to interested dealer owners and their representatives.
Pre-registration is required. For questions, or to register for training, email the dealer training team at
dealertraining@dot.wi.gov. Please include your dealer name and the names of those attending training.
The program covers all aspects of dealer business with a focus on DAS's mission of “Keeping dealers in business, doing business right." During training, attendees can expect to learn how to:
- reassign titles and complete odometer disclosures
- complete the Wisconsin Buyer's Guide
- properly advertise vehicles
- complete the MV11 and purchase contracts
- understand the dealer's role in mandatory display laws
The 4-hour training program is voluntary and offered at no cost to you. Clases are held virtually through Microsoft Teams. We strongly encourage newly licensed dealers and dealer applicants to consider attending training, but all licensed dealers are welcome. This optional training is not a substitute for an initial inspection.
The dealer training seminar is part of the department's larger efforts to
provide educational opportunities to dealers.
