Location
WIS 32, US 8 to Crandon Railroad Overhead bridge, Crandon, Forest County
Overview
The existing asphalt pavement on WIS 32 is in poor condition and deteriorating. The existing curb and gutter is in poor condition and the gutter has been overlaid with asphalt pavement. This has resulted in inadequate drainage of water off the roadway. The existing storm sewer system is not functioning as intended, which has resulted in the system being overwhelmed during storm events. The existing roadway culvert is beyond its service life and in poor condition as well.
Proposed improvements include replacing the asphaltic pavement, widening concrete sidewalk, replacing and installing curb ramps, installing pedestrian crosswalk, installing curb and gutter, constructing storm sewer, replacing culvert, and replacing beam guard.
Traffic Impacts
WIS 32 is anticipated to be detoured during construction with local access maintained. Temporary pedestrian facilities would be utilized during the replacement of sidewalk and curb ramps.
Real Estate
Temporary and permanent limited easements may be need for the construction of curb ramps, culvert replacement and storm sewer installation.
