Project location
The project is located in the village of North Fond du Lac and the town of Friendship, Fond du Lac County, between US 45 Scott Street and Lone Elm Road.
Project need
The purpose of this highway improvement project is to improve pavement conditions and address deficiencies in the existing corridor and culverts.
Proposed improvements
This is a 7.4-mile resurfacing of US 45 with culvert replacement. The project will consist of milling existing pavement and overlaying asphaltic pavement, replacing beamguard and regrading around new beamguard to current standards. The project will also replace three cross culverts under US 45 in the project limits.
Schedule
The project is anticipated to start construction in summer of 2024 and will be completed in 2024.
Traffic impacts
US 45 will remain open to traffic during construction. The project will be constructed under rolling lane closure. Access to businesses and residences will be maintained throughout construction. However vehicular access may be limited for a short period of time during specific construction activities. The project construction engineer will coordinate any access limitations during construction with the property owner or resident.

Right-of-way acquisitions will be required. A member of our real estate team will contact you if your property is affected.

Your comments are important to us to obtain input that will assist the department in the further development and refinement of a final design.
