WIS 128 at the south entrance to Kwik Trip about 800 feet north of I-94 in the St. Croix County town of Cady.

Overvi​ew

The proposed highway safety improvement project aims to reduce illegal​ U-turns on WIS 128 just north of Kwik Trip's south driveway and crashes that have resulted by:

  • Changing the existing right-in and right-out driveway configuration by building a raised island to prevent motorists from making right turns out of the south driveway.
  • Placing additional signing to guide motorists wanting to travel south on WIS 128 to one of Kwik Trip's north driveways that connect to a local street, which has access to the highway.

Schedu​​le

Construction currently is scheduled for 2024.

​Traffic Impa​cts

During construction, WIS 128 will remain open to through traffic, but:

  • Kwik Trip's south driveway is proposed to be closed during construction of the raised island. Motorists wanting to access the business will be directed to the local street to the north and the convenience store's two north driveways.
  • The northbound WIS 128 shoulder will be temporarily closed.
