Location
WIS 87 from US 8 to 240 feet north of Minnesota Street in the city of St. Croix Falls in Polk County.
Overview
The asphaltic pavement is deteriorating, a short portion of the project south of the State Street intersection has experienced flooding, and pedestrian curb ramps don't meet Americans With Disabilities Act standards. To address these, WisDOT is proposing to:
- Remove 3.25 inches of existing pavement and place 3.25 inches of new asphaltic pavement.
- Replace a short length of storm sewer near State Street.
- Reconstruct noncompliant curb ramps.
Schedule
Construction currently is scheduled for 2027.
Traffic Impacts
During construction:
- WIS 87 will remain open to traffic, but motorists will encounter single-lane closures controlled by flagging.
- Access to side roads, businesses and residences will be maintained.
- There will be shoulder and parking lane closures.
