WIS 56 (S junction WIS 131 to Fancy Creek bridge) - Richland County

Project ov​​erview

The project on WIS 56 will consist of a mill and relay of the existing pavement followed by a 3.5-inch asphalt overlay. The paved shoulder will be widened to a width of 3 feet to improve safety. Curb and gutter will be added in rural sections to improve drainage. Guard rail will be replaced to meet current standards. Two curb ramps in Viola will be replaced to meet current ADA standards. A concrete deck overlay will be constructed on WIS 56 bridge over Camp Creek tributary along with inlet repair and pier painting. WIS 56 bridge over Camp Creek will have surface repair on the parapets.

Traffi​c impacts/detours

Traffic impacts are still not known since the project is in preliminary design however, a detour for a portion of the project is likely. If detoured, access for local residents and businesses will be maintained.
