WIS 80 (Lemonweir River bridge to WIS 58), New Lisbon to Necedah - Juneau County
Project overview
The goal of the proposed project is to extend the pavement service life, improve driver safety, and ride comfort of 7.97 miles of WIS 80 from the Lemonweir River bridge in New Lisbon to WIS 58 in Necedah in Juneau County.
Additional objectives of the project are to improve intersection safety at the New Lisbon Travel Mart and Shell gas station access points due to higher than average crash rates, upgrade curb ramps and the existing, substandard guardrail. The proposed project also includes rehabilitation work to the Lemonweir River bridge and Little Yellow River bridge.
The proposed pavement improvement undertaking will consist of the following:
- Resurface the roadway to extend its service life
- Improve intersection of WIS 80 and the Shell/New Lisbon Travel Mart to improve safety
Schedule
- December 6, 2023 - Public Involvement Meeting
- 2028 - Construction anticipated, advanceable to 2027 depending on funding
Traffic impacts/detours
WIS 80 will be closed and detoured between I-90 interchange and WIS 58, detour will utilize I-90 and WIS 58. WIS 80 will remain open between New Lisbon and I-90 interchange.
