WIS 89 (E. Blackhawk Drive to US 18), Fort Atkinson – Jefferson County
Project overview
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) plans to improve this 4.53 mile section of WIS 89 near the City of Fort Atkinson by resurfacing (mill and overlay) the existing asphalt pavement. This treatment is needed to extend the pavement service life.
Additional improvements include:
- Adjusting/replacing guardrail as needed
- Upgrading guardrail end treatments
- Replace cross culverts
- New structure approaches
- New pavement marking

Schedule
- Construction scheduled for 2025, with potential advancement to 2024.
Traffic impacts/detours
Traffic will likely be detoured during construction.
- The proposed detour route is US 12 to WIS 26 to US 18
*Access to all properties within the project limits will be maintained during construction.
