The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is responsible for helping customers obtain DMV fieldquality driver license and registration products and promoting transportation safety. The DMV has more than ​80 locations around the state. We serve the general public, motor carriers, car dealers, driving schools and law enforcement.

  • NEW: WORK FROM HOME! Customer service by phones: CSRs are able to work from their homes 100% of the time in any location in the state. Our team answers nearly 1 million phone calls each year.
  • In-person customer service:
    ​With 80 permanent locations across Wisconsin, our customer service representative serve more than 2 million walk-in customers each year. Start your career working in a DMV office.​

DMV processing

  • Customer service by processing materials: DMV has extensive online services and these customer service representatives handle mailed in or online applications for vehicle titles and other products. The DMV processing opportunities are located in the Hill Farms State Office Building on Madison’s west side.

​Paid training, great benefits

Starting pay is typically $20.46/hour with potential future increases, such as +$1.40/hour after one-year of satisfactory performance.

Professional growth​​ and reclassification to the Advanced level is typically after 18 months of service, and receives at least $23.93/hour. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Pay for current state employees will be determined in accordance with the current State Compensation Plan​. All positions offer paid on-the-job training and opportunities for career advancement. Some positions may require occasional evening or weekend hours.
