To exchange your Korean driver license for a Wisconsin driver license, you must complete the following:
- Obtain an English translation of your Korean driver license. This document must be produced and certified by the Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Chicago, IL.
- Upon receipt of the translation, appear at a Wisconsin DMV
Customer Service Center and bring the following documentation:
- Pass a basic vision exam
- Completed
MV3001 application
- Pay the required driver license
fee
Korean driver licenses issued after September 16, 2019 will have an English translation on the back of the driver license. If your Korean driver license has an English translation on the card, you are not required to obtain an English translation of your card from the Consulate of the Republic of Korea.
Upon completion of the application process, your Korean driver license will be returned to you. You will receive a
Temporary Driving Receipt which will serve as your valid Wisconsin driver license until your card arrives in the mail in approximately ten days.
