WIS 26 (Center Street to WIS 33), Juneau - Dodge County
Project overview
WisDOT is in the process of developing plans to repair the existing concrete pavement at the intersections of Center Street (County S), County W, and County DF. In addition, WisDOT plans to resurface the two mile section of WIS 26 between County DF and WIS 33 to improve the pavement surface.
Improvements include:
- Center Street (County S), County W, and County DF
- Replace deteriorated concrete panels.
- Replace the existing pedestrian curb ramps to the extent feasible. Temporary limited easements (TLEs) are anticipated to be required for the pedestrian curb ramp work.
- County DF to WIS 33
- Mill and overlay the existing asphalt pavement.
- Install centerline rumble strips.
Schedule
- February 2022 - Public Involvement Meeting
- Spring/Summer 2027 - Construction anticipated, but advance able to 2024 if funding is available.
Traffic impacts/detours
Detour (local access only)–WIS 26 will be closed to through traffic during concrete pavement panel and pedestrian curb ramp replacement locations at the intersections of Center Street (County S), County W, and County DF.
- Detour route: WIS 26–County A–WIS 33–WIS 26
Single-lane flagging operations will be used during the resurfacing of WIS 26 between County DF and WIS 33.
