Overview
This section between Stoughton and McFarland is divided between three stages.
US 51 from Spring Road to Fifth Street in the city of Stoughton and town of Dunkirk. Improvements include:
- Reconstruct the existing 2-lane urban section and provide improved pedestrian accommodations
- Provide a bicycle lane in both directions on US 51
US 51 from Fifth Street to Harrison Street in the city of Stoughton. Improvements include:
- Reconstruct the existing 2 and 4-lane urban sections
- Provide improved pedestrian accommodations
- Update pavement markings at the Fourth Street intersection to provide a dedicated northbound left-turn lane
- Provide bike routes on numerous parallel streets
US 51 from Harrison Street to Roby Road in the city of Stoughton and the town of Rutland. Improvements include:
- Reconstruct the existing 4-lane urban section between Harrison Street and Hoel Avenue
- Expand the existing 2-lane rural section between Jackson Street and Roby Road to a 4-lane urban section
- Provide a 10-foot wide sidewalk on both sides of US 51 between Jackson Street and Roby Road
