WisDOT and the Federal Highway Administration are evaluating the input received during the comment period. A Final EIS is being drafted. It is expected that the combined Final EIS and Record of Decision (ROD) will be available late 2023/early 2024.

Public Meeting - July 2023

WisDOT hosted a public meeting regarding the proposed extension of Washington Street on Thursday, July 27, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the West Allis City Hall Council Chambers (7525 W Greenfield Avenue, West Allis). For more details view the meeting invite below.

Public Hearings - December 2022

WisDOT hosted two public hearings in December 2022. The public hearings had both an open house and a public testimony portion. The public was invited to view project information, talk with project staff, testify before a panel, testify privately, and/or submit written input on the preferred alternative for the corridor. Formal testimony to the panel began after an opening presentation. The same information was presented on both nights. View exhibits presented at both public hearings below. June 2022 - Public Involvement Meetings:

WisDOT hosted two open house style public involvement meetings in June 2022 to discuss the project's proposed improvements and pending alternatives. Materials and exhibits that were shared at the meetings are posted below to help give more opportunity for public feedback. (Please note large files may take a moment to download.)

Since the December 2021 public meetings, WisDOT has been working on:

  • Developing an additional alternative for the Stadium Interchange.
  • Revising the study schedule to allow for additional analysis.
  • Developing details regarding a transit component of the construction traffic management plan.
  • Proceeding with reduced impact options along the 68th Street eastbound entrance ramp and 35th Street north of I-94.
